Ilene Segal, DVM
Dr. Ilene Segal is a native of Newton, Massachusetts, and graduated from Newton South High School in 1979. She attended the University of New Hampshire where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Zoology in 1983. After completing her undergraduate studies, Dr. Segal attended Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1987.
After working for almost a decade as an associate veterinarian in various local veterinary hospitals, Dr. Segal established Parkway Veterinary Hospital in 1996. Over the years, the positive feedback and expressions of satisfaction which Dr. Segal and her staff have received from their clients have made her work all the more rewarding and worthwhile.
Dr. Segal is a general veterinary practitioner with professional interests in acupuncture and canine rehabilitation therapy. She completed an International Veterinary Acupuncture Society course in 2001 and earned certification in Canine Rehabilitation from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Segal is also member of the advisory board and a visiting instructor at the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Winchester, MA.
Aside from her veterinary profession, Dr. Segal maintains active membership in several local organizations such as the New England Women's Business Owners Association and the West Roxbury Business Association, and sponsors Parkway Little League and Pop Warner Football.
Ballroom dancing, hiking, knitting and kayaking are some of Dr. Segal's hobbies. She is the proud owner of a handsome young Dalmatian, Tycho, and a mischievous cat named Miss Kitty. |

Sandy Higgins, DVM
Dr. Sandy Higgins graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1986 with a B.S. Degree in Biological Science. A few years after receiving her undergraduate degree, she attended Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine from which she received her Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1992. As a veterinary student, Dr. Higgins excelled academically. She was a member of Phi Zeta Society (Honors Society) and graduated Cum Laude. Following veterinary school, Dr. Higgins completed a 13-month internship at nearby Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Jamaica Plain.
Dr. Higgins hobbies include ice skating, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her two boys, Daniel and Michael, her husband Fred, a Golden Retriever named Champ, and the newest addition, a cat named Dusty.

Nicole Worshum, DVM
Dr. Nicole Worshum graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Dairy Science. Dr. Worshum also pursued her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State, graduating in 2008. She then completed a 13-month small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston before joining our staff in July 2009.
Dr. Worshum hails from Loxley, Alabama. She spends her spare time reading, working out, cooking, and spending time with friends. Dr. Worshum currently resides in Roslindale with her four-legged family, Skeeter, a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix, Sophie, a Jack Russell Terrier, and three cats: Elliot, Roxie, and Ralphie

Naomi Oliver, DVM
Please welcome Dr. Naomi Oliver to the Parkway Team!
Dr. Naomi Oliver graduated cum laude from Smith College in Western Massachusetts, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Science in 1998. Raised in Albany, she returned to New York State to attend veterinary school at Cornell University. Since her graduation in 2005, Dr. Oliver has been practicing general medicine. Her special interests include preventative care and internal medicine.
In her spare time, Dr. Oliver enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling. She lives in Jamaica Plain, and shares her home with three cats Lev, Figaro, and Tucker, a mixed-breed dog Zeke, and one very spirited peach-faced lovebird Percy.
