| Dr. Ilene Segal is a native of Newton, Massachusetts, and graduated from Newton South High School in 1979. She attended the University of New Hampshire where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Zoology in 1983. After completing her undergraduate studies, Dr. Segal attended Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1987.
After working for almost a decade as an associate veterinarian in various local veterinary hospitals, Dr. Segal established Parkway Veterinary Hospital in 1996. Over the years, the positive feedback and expressions of satisfaction which Dr. Segal and her staff have received from their clients have made her work all the more rewarding and worthwhile.
Dr. Segal is a general veterinary practitioner with professional interests in acupuncture and canine rehabilitation therapy. She completed an International Veterinary Acupuncture Society course in 2001 and earned certification in Canine Rehabilitation from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Segal is also member of the advisory board and a visiting instructor at the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Winchester, MA.
Aside from her veterinary profession, Dr. Segal maintains active membership in several local organizations such as the State of Massachusetts Animal Response Team (S.M.A.R.T.), the New England Women’s Business Owners Association, and is the chairwoman of the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association’s Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Committee.
Ballroom dancing, hiking, knitting and kayaking are some of Dr. Segal's hobbies. She is the proud owner of a handsome young Dalmatian, Tycho, and a mischievous cat named Miss Kitty. |

Dr. Sandy Higgins graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1986 with a B.S. Degree in Biological Science. A few years after receiving her undergraduate degree, she attended Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine from which she received her Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1992. As a veterinary student, Dr. Higgins excelled academically. She was a member of Phi Zeta Society (Honors Society) and graduated Cum Laude. Following veterinary school, Dr. Higgins completed a 13-month internship at nearby Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Jamaica Plain.
Dr. Higgins hobbies include ice skating, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her two boys, Daniel and Michael, her husband Fred, a Golden Retriever named Champ, and the newest addition, a cat named Dusty.

Dr. Nicole Worshum graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Dairy Science. Dr. Worshum also pursued her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State, graduating in 2008. She then completed a 13-month small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston before joining our staff in July 2009.
Dr. Worshum hails from Loxley, Alabama. She spends her spare time reading, working out, cooking, and spending time with friends. Dr. Worshum currently resides in Roslindale with her four-legged family, Skeeter, a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix, Sophie, a Jack Russell Terrier, and three cats: Elliot, Roxie, and Ralphie.

| Heather has been a veterinary technician since 1994, and came to us from Houston, Texas in 2000. Previous to her position at Parkway Veterinary Hospital, Heather volunteered at M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital and the Houston Zoo, and has worked at several small animal, exotic, and avian veterinary hospitals. She plans to eventually attend medical school to study integrative medicine, but for now enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family. |

Emmanuelle received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Emmanuel College. Prior to her position as a technician at Parkway Veterinary Hospital, she worked as a zookeeper at Franklin Park Zoo in Jamaica Plain. In addition to her technician skills, she excels at arts, crafts, and baking. Emmanuelle lives with her husband, Edwin, a cat named Lias, and beautiful daughter Victoria.

| Nancy is a receptionist who came to Parkway with seven years of experience in the pet industry. Starting as a salesperson for Especially for Pets in Newton, MA in 1991, Nancy quickly worked her way up to Store Manager. Her communication skills, as well as her passion for animals, made the perfect combination for a successful retail store with many loyal patrons. Nancy previously had a small pet photography business and was instrumental in raising money for the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition. She lives in Newton, MA with her family, including a Golden Retriever and several fish. |

| Danielle is a certified technician who received her Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology from the Mount Ida School of Animal Science in 2005. Her Canine Rehabilitation Certification is pending from the University of Tennessee. She adopted Nelly, a five-year-old Rottweiler mix, from Nevin's Farm in Methuen. Nelly was crowned Mutt of the Year at the MSPCA's Walk for Animals in September 2008. Danielle is also the proud owner of four handsome felines, Toby, Jake, Meeko, and Wiski, and two guinea pigs, Bob and Hank. |

Sandie is a receptionist who joined our staff in August of 2006. She was employed at New England Veterinary Oncology Group in Waltham while working toward her Master of Social Work degree from Boston College, which she was awarded in 2004. She has been married for ten years to her husband Robert, who received his Ph.D in Educational Psychology, also from Boston College. |

Anne is a certified technician who received her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology from the Mount Ida School of Animal Science in 2009. She has been a technician with Parkway since 2006, and also spent 3 years working in an animal shelter in southern MA. Anne is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, as well as the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. She also runs her own pet sitting and at home medical assistance business, Boston/Southshore Pet Care. She resides in West Roxbury with her two cats - Morgan, the troublemaking torti, and Captain, the simple but loveable orange tiger. |

Jack is a certified veterinary technician who also received his Association of Specialty Veterinary Dental Technicians certification in 2002. Jack joined the Parkway staff in June of 2008. He hails from New Jersey and currently resides in Roslindale. He shares his home with multiple creatures, including an African Grey parrot named Indy, an orange cat named Bruce, and Napoleon the rabbit. |

Morgan has been a receptionist at Parkway since September 2010. An avid equestrian, she has been horseback riding since she was 8 years old and is a lifelong animal lover. Morgan currently shares her love with a horse, 3 dogs, a cat, and her boyfriend Michael. In the future, she hopes to go on to get her Master of Science degree in Animals in Public Policy and from there, law school. She hopes to become an animal rights lawyer when she completes her schooling. |

Jenn has been working as a veterinary technician since 2004. Before coming to PVH in November 2010, she worked in emergency and critical care. Jenn loves the beach, baseball, photography, and has a fondness for Boston Terriers. Besides a few years spent in New York City, she has lived around Boston her whole life. She currently lives with her two lovely kitties, Leela and Tanner. She can’t wait to get her next Boston Terrier! |
